After releasing 2 EP s in 2009, New Songs For The Old Frontier Vol 1 and I Can t Make You Happy, this new offering sees Fauss branching out sonically, while staying rooted in the traditions Americana in many of it s forms (folk, country, and rock-n-roll). On Mulligan , Fauss experiments with Being There-era Wilco ( To Ease My Mind , Just Another Tuesday ) and old-school Johnny Cash ( It s A Long, Long Way ), as well as providing us with tracks that would have been right at home on his previous releases ( Wish , Tia Maria , Driving Through Memphis ). Mulligan was produced by Shannon Barrett, frontman for Dallas rock band Far Star, and features musicians from that band as well as a number of other contributors including many from New Songs For The Old Frontier Volume 1 . It was released on Dallas label FTG Records.
