CD ReviewsRock the Poacher pst1956@aol.com | 06/01/2000 (3 out of 5 stars) "Ronnie Lane was one of the true british rockers. Nothing new, musically, but sounding really good. These two cd:s comes from different sources recorded during the gypsy caravan that turned out to be A financially disaster. But, do in an appropriate way show how the Ronnie Lane Slim Chance really sounded, when on tour in the circus tent. Rock Your Blues away, Guitars (electric & accustic) fiddle & mandolin + drums & bass & some accordion. However, if you dont have any records with the band, the one to get hold on, is "ONE FOR THE ROAD. A five star album in any competition." One for the road Katie | 12/12/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "I noticed this had an "average customer review" of only three stars (!), so I had to say something. This record is f&#%ing brilliant. I don't know why all these copies are so cheap - when I got mine a few years back, it was $30 - so buy 'em while you can! Ronnie Lane is woefully underappreciated, as one listen of these songs can prove. The sound quality is excellent, as these were radio performances. "Ooh La La", "Careless Love", and "Anniversary" in particular have never sounded better. It really captures Slim Chance's whole wonderful, Brit-Appalachia sound. BUY!" Buy it. pst1956@aol.com | Springfield Oregon | 07/25/1998 (5 out of 5 stars) "So sad he's gone, but these recordings help ease the loss. I wish I could have seen the band... God they were good..."
