"They included the CLASSIC song 'Every Generation' from 1980. It is hard to imagine a Ronnie Laws compilation without this awesome track, but if you want to obtain it, get 'Smooth Grooves-Jazzy Soul' VOL.3, and create a better Laws compilation CD. The 'Every Generation' CD is out of print!! Besides that, this is a nice Ronnie Laws sampler that features hits from the 'Pressure Sensitive' era, and there are some hits like 'Always There', 'Friends & Strangers', and others that also feature his sisters Debra & Eloise on vocals. I'd also recommend Debra Laws' 'Very Special' (1981) CD because Ronnie is a featured player on all tracks (he even sings on the title cut!!). All in all, the best of Ronnie Laws is 'nice', but should've been more comprehensive. Get a used copy!

A great collection indeed.

"Another personal choice for a Ronnie Laws greatest hits collection would be the 1984 compilation "Classic Masters" (Capitol Records ST-512375), however, it is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that Classic Masters is currently out of print. It's playlist was as follows: 1. City Girl* 2. Always There 3. Love Is Here 4. Every Generation 5. (You Are) Paradise* 6. Friends And Strangers 7. In The Groove 8. Stay Awake 9. Saturday Evening* Previously unreleasedPerhaps Capitol will see fit to doing a re-release of this brilliantly arranged and performed American musical masterpiece."
GREAT Muis...

"Yes, This is a great cd, but I can not believe they left out his most successful song "Every Generation" What a gem of a song. One of the best R&B songs of the 80's. Maybe that is why the Every Generation album is available for the first time in the USA on CD . You all have to pick up the "Every Generation" CD. The music is just simple a Masterpiece, delightful, all that!. I did not respect this Album when it first came out, because I did not respect great music as a kid, all I wanted to hear was the latest party jams (knee deep, shake your body down to the ground...). Now I am older and respect good music, I know why my parents always played his music. Ok well my brothers and I did like Saturday Evening from the Friends and Strangers Album. Thank you Ronnie for laying it down, for others to duplicate. If you do not like at least one song by Ronnie, then you do not know music!"
A lovely collection...

"of timeless classics from Ronnie Laws!! The only way this CD could have been better would be to have added Every Generation to the list of tracks...otherwise, this is an essential for any jazz lover."
