"Although it's not really a complete review of this album, it should be noted that Allison Janney as C.J. Cregg lip-syncs "The Jackal" in one of the greatest scenes ever of the television show "The West Wing". Just listening to the song reminds me of how great that scene is. WW or Janney fans, enjoy."
It's worth a listen

"But only for tracks 6-10 in my opinion. Actually I have the cassette and I only listen to side B, which is tracks 6-10 on a CD. I LOVE "Come With Me". I first heard the song when I saw the video on BET back in 1993. That's when I bought the tape. "The Morning After" is soooo calming. "Under Your Spell" grows on you. At least on me it did, but although I like rap, I'm not crazy about it on a "jazz" album. Tinsel Town is cute and Vanston Place rounds the album out well."

"This is easily one of the best contemporary jazz albums in recent years. Ronny's lucid style is reminiscent of the late, great Wes Montgomery, as well as George Benson. This is a funky collection of tunes that will appeal to acid jazz and hip hop fans. His interpretation of "Mr Walker" (written by Wes Montgomery) is fantastic; almost as good as his cover of "So What" on his first album. There are practically no weak tracks on the album, though some people may dislike "The Jackal", depending on how much you like Dana Bryant. I think he gets away with it. I hope that his new release - "A Brighter Day" - will be in a similar context to this outstanding album."
This CD turned me on to acid jazz.

"I first heard this CD while sitting in a pub in Queenstown, NZ. I was mesmerized by the funky, jazzy beat to a point where I had our waiter pull the cd from their 100 disc cd changer upsetting the whole pub in order for me to write down the artist and title. This cd is full of up-beat funky, jazzy tunes. A few of the tracks have vocals. Ronny Jordan is a very talented artist with light exposure in the States. I highly recommend this cd if you are into this kind of music."
