"23 pretty good tracks of the best of the Brazilian Popular Music, also known as MPB, all them original recordings: Milton Nascimento, Chico Buarque, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Marcos Valle and so many others! Oh, also Zimbo Trio, and Vinicius de Moraes, Tom Jobim's partner for long time...

Well, only mistakenly named Samba com Jazz, what might confuse the listener expecting anything close to carnival style, never even touched on a single note or second!

All the colors of Brazil, this is actually very true! Great pick, not easy to find but well worthed to search for!



The songs have been compiled by Rick Glanvill, who also writes the liner notes and tries to explain the relationship between what he understand as "samba" and jazz.

"For those who are tired of electronica and clubbing, why don't you listen to some old nice tunes?
Cores do Brasil series is the great introductory compilation of Brasilian music.
Lots of sweet melodies, compiled by British. Got to be good and truly worth listening.
Make yourself a nice cup of coffee, light up your favorite cigarette, if you smoke, and listen to it.
You will be in heaven for the next 60 minutes, I'm sure."
