"Sweden seems to be a very quiet country. Once in a while a lot of noise comes out of it that eventually fades away years later but leaves a permanent emotional mark. In the 70's, they gave us ABBA, and in the late 80's and well into the 90's, Roxette was a worldwide sensation.
Comprising of two members, the voice Marie Fredriksson (vocals) and the mind Per Gessle (songwriter, guitarist, sometimes vocals), together this pair produced a string of chartbreaking hits on both sides of the Atlantic, and instant classics.
All the wonderful songs are included in this must-have compilation: the major US number one hit singles It Must Have Been Love (from the Pretty Woman soundtrack), The Look (their first big break in North America), and Listen To Your Heart (a beautiful chart topping ballad). The album also includes the power ballads Spending My Time, and Fading Like A Flower (Every Time You Leave), the mindblowing Vulnerable (featuring Per Gessle on lead vocals) , Almost Unreal (from the box office flop Super Mario Bros), Crash Boom Bang, and the fun pop tunes How Do You Do? and Joyride. The album also features four newer songs as of 1995 including the irresistably good You Don't Understand Me and the Beatlesque hippy tune June Afternoon.
Don't Bore Us, Get To The Chorus is a perfect substitute for most of the Roxette collection of albums.
Definitely worth owning!

"This CD has all their hits and a few new tracks, and is filled with the bouncy energy that characterizes most of their songs. Their debut smash "The Look", the funky "Joyride", and the hard-drivin' "Sleeping In My Car" are all here. But Roxette's slow songs are also excellent, highlighted by The Pretty Woman single "It Must Have Been Love", one of my favourite ballads of all time. Also here are "Listen To Your Heart", "Spending My Time", "Crash, Boom, Bang", and "Dangerous".Finally, the new releases here are also very good, in particular "June Afternoon", a funky opening track that makes me want to jump in the car and go roaring off into the summer with the top pulled down, and "You Don't Understand Me", a mellow tune that speaks of the gulf that often exists between the sexes. Nice."

"Now this is a greatest hits for the greatest overseas pop group. To me Per Gessle is the heart and Marie Fredriksson is the soul of Roxette.Per writes the most catchy pop songs and the most coolest ballads. As Marie has that awesome voice that makes you listen.Per is a good singer also. This combination was pure hit makers all over.It is so hard to pick a favorite song there is too many to pick from.As for the cd the selection has about every big hit on here.In the cover booklet has all the lyrics and comments from Per and Marie. As for being a import of course you got to spend more for it.But this collection is well worth every penny. There is a U.S. version as well but you only get 16 songs and the first two songs are different than on this cd.But it is cheaper. It will be on the Edel Records label.Don't buy the "Ballad Hits" album, its missing too many good songs. So if you are still into 80's and 90's pop music this cd is a must buy.A great summer car cd.Enjoy."
Refreshing

"In this day and age of the so called "emo" music and people who are so ignorant that they are calling groups like Def Leopard and Metallica punk music, it is refreshing to listen to a group that actually has talent.
Granted, Per Gessle's voice is not on par with someone like U2's Bono (but then again whose is?) but Mr. Gessele's song writting skills are unique and the lyrics are good to sing along to in this day and age where actually writting your own songs is virtually extint.
We all remember "It Must Have Been Love" and "Joyride" from the good ole 90's. It goes without saying that those two songs are well done. However, not everyone may remember the little known "Never Is A Long Time", but this song is a hidden jewel.
"Don't Bore Us, Get To The Chorus" will definetely deliver your bang for your buck; whether you are already a Roxette fan or just someone looking to try out some good music from a group that has talent, you won't be disappointed.
Why not try a group that does have talent, unlike the saccarine Britney Spears pop or Avril Lavinge's "my-life-is-so-horrible" punk music that does nothing but pollute the environment's airwaves.
Roxette is refreshing - a breath of fresh air.

The United States really missed something wonderful here

"I remember first seeing Roxette on MTV back in the 80's (when MTV was good and actually played music videos) and I flipped over "The Look" and "Joyride". I had cassette singles of these songs and that's all I had from Roxette until I went on a search for a compilation. Well, I looked everywhere and could not find what I wanted. There's not a good compilation for them in the U.S.! I finally ran across this CD and am I ever glad I did. What a package this one is. This is one of my favorite CDs and I have over 1,000.
I just wish they were better known in this country (U.S.) as they are truly fantastic. The United States really missed out on something great here. Even so, most people should recognize "It Must Have Been Love" from the "Pretty Woman" soundtrack. I wasn't aware of it until getting this disc and it was a nice surprise-------I KNEW THAT SONG! There is not one bad song on here. This disc is a true "mood lifter" if there ever was one.
This collection is well worth the money. Go for it! You know you want to."
