Has its moments, but still weak follow up to Country Life

"The remastered edition of Siren has a number of strong moments. It's less cohesive than Country Life or Stranded (or For Your Pleasure for that matter)and, while the song writing is frequently strong, Siren has filler on it. It's clear that there was an increasingly level of apathy and tension within the band after listening to this album. The best material stretched out into a new sythepop direction (the sizzling Both Ends Burning)and a melodic ballads. It's nice to finally have Whirlwind in its original version (the beginning was cut off the previously issued CD). The sound quality is exceptional. This HDCD was lovingly remastered by Bob Ludwig and it recaptures the flavor of the original vinyl edition, while enhancing the overall sound."
