Great piano with blues and gospel roots

"A superb album. One of his best since the Columbia LP's. All the ingredients are here: three wonderful ballads (This one's on me, When I think of Miles, Silver mist), a grooving opener (Side walks of New York), the hard swing of Don't look under the bed, a welcome rendition of O'Jays' Don't call me brother and a slow soulful Please send me someone to love (Percy Mayfield's masterpiece). Roy is very well backed. Bassist Chris Berger has a big, vibrant sound (George we hardly know) and drummer's Neal Smith support is exemplary.If you like soul jazz you won't be disappointed."
