Album DescriptionChristopher Seaman is widely regarded as one of Britain's leading conductors and currently holds the positions of Musical Director with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, Florida and Conductor-in-Residence at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. He appears regularly in Europe, where he has worked most recently with the Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra, Het Gelders Orkest, and the Czech Philharmonic, which he conducted at short notice in the Prague Spring Festival. Violinist Jonathan Carney is an avid exponent of 20th-century music and his repertoire includes concerti by Lutoslawski, Penderecki, Hindemith, Barber, Walton, and William Bolcom. In his debut at the Royal Festival Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in 1992, he performed Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending. In addition to his recent recordings for CBS Masterworks, Virgin, and Decca, Carney has recorded solo works by John Cage and Bruno Maderna for the BBC.
