Ruby's final Arbors album is like the others -- great

"After seeing the cover of this CD, I resisted buying it. The cartoon makes it look like like a Spike Jones reissue, and I thought Ruby Braff deserved a more tasteful send-off for his final studio session. But I finally decided to ignore the hoaky cover and enjoy the music. I did, and Ruby's horn, combined with the Pizzarellis' guitars, made it very worthwhile. Braff was a fine cornetist, and I'll miss discovering a new Arbors CD from him for the years ahead. Fortunately, I can enjoy this one (and his large volume of recordings for Arbors and other companies) for the rest of my life. Ruby went out as a champ."
Horn like a human voice!

"
Ruby Braff is amazing - a horn that sounds like a human voice, expressive, buttery, and articulate. The Pizzarelli's are also deft and excellent. This is a great CD recommended in New Yorker magazine as one of the best of 2007."
