"This isn't just any Rufus Thomas album, this is a posthumous release of his final studio sessions in the Original Sun Studio where he began his career with "Bear Cat" in 1953. Recorded in 1990, 11 years before Rufus' passing, it took his daughter Vaneese's label, Segue, to sort out the legal issues and see that this album was properly prepared for release. Stripped down with some ace Memphis musicians, Rufus returns to his Blues and Soul roots on this one with all concerned seeming to have a great time. Of note is "Miss Jane," Merle Haggard's "Today I Started Loving You Again," and "Old Dog, New Tricks," a clever revision of "Walking the Dog." Great stuff from the man who started it all at Sun Records and ends there as well."

"There's nothing like that Memphis sound. Once again, Rufus has worked his magic and that Memphis sound is rocking again. It is full of soul, funk, and blues. This cd will have you singing and dancing all night!!!!! The engineers who worked on this project are great - creating a clean yet soulful sound. Thanks Segue for reminding us that "Just Because I'm Leaving...Don't Mean I'm Gone!!!!! Memphis Music - There's Nothing Better!!!!!!!!!!!
