Great, Forgotten, Indie Rock

"When I saw the video for 'Xmas Trip' on the What's Up Matador? VHS, i thought this was the worst, weirdest, geekiest band on Matador. I bought the CD a few weeks later after being unable to get the song out of my head. Run On is very hard to categorize; mid-90s Yo La Tengo is probably the closest comparison. They use a variety of instruments and three different singers to create strange little songs that are intriguing and compelling more often than not. The first 8 songs are absolutely great, with the hightlights being 'Tried,' 'Baap'(for Alan Licht's great guitar solo), and 'Xmas Trip'. The next three songs really miss the point, however, actually failing to use any of the band's many charms. 'Surprise' is a nice closing. Some albums stay with you for reasons you can't quite explain, and this is one of them. A minor classic."
