"I don't care if many think this music was made just for selling or if most 15 year old girls are mad about Ryan Cabrera, I think we wouldn't be fair if we criticied his work just for that. I bought this record because I loved "true" and "on the way down" from his previous album, and actually I don't regret it at all. Overall it's a serious record with no bad songs, maybe too mellow, but enjoyable after all.
1-ºFrom the start (3/5)
2- Hit me with your light (5/5) awesome beat. Should have been his second single
3- Shine on (4.5/5) First single. Catchy but overplayed
4- find your way (4/5)
5- Photo (4.5/5) Second single. Nice, but doesn't reach track #2
6- Our Story (3/5)
7- Fall baby fall (4.5/5) Sweet
8- Last night (5/5) Impressive upbeat. Cool guitar riff
9- Walking on water (2.5/5) weakest
10- With you gone (4.5/5) Getting better
11- It's you (5/5) Ending with his best written song. Slow, beautiful...This is a certain future single. Leaves a great taste"
Suprisingly MUCH better!

"Thank you Ryan Cabrera! After listening to his first Cd which was really good, i didn't think his next one would be any better, BUT I underestimated him. Ryan brings out a lot of his style in the CD...the last one all seemed to be one way, with little variety and you couldn't tell some songs apart. But it was still good. This CD brings out so many different types of styles and he uses more vocal expresssion. Luv it. even though every song is about like one girl, it's definitely worth buying. Especially if your a romantic girl that likes to drive through the country listening to music...this is the perfect CD for a roadtrip with your girlfriends!
Shine On...beautiful song to wakeup to
Our Story...i love the style of the chorus...it's so catchy
Find Your Way..the music is lovely. it's very comforting
Fall Baby Fall...probably the 2nd best song on the CD, it's sooooo sweet and it definitely builds up
Walking On Water..makes you feel really good
It's You..the BEST song, the lyrics are sweet and music is great..just an all around good song
All the songs are great..bottom line, this Cd is very comforting and can change any down mood or elevate in high one.

"Normally, I don't buy music from men. I have no idea why -- it is some brain process that I have yet to get out of my head. However, I felt tempted to buy Ryan Cabrera's album. Several reasons for this, actually. One being that one of my close friends raved about it when she bought it, and played it over and over (I never got the chance to hear it, as it was on an mp3 player, and I have yet to ask her to let me listen in on a song yet; I don't like sharing ear buds, as I'm just weird that way). I also saw several advertisements through stores, and, naturally, I got interested. So I forked over the money and bought it.
One of the best decisions I have ever made! He has a soft voice, and most of his songs reflect that -- one being Walking On Water -- and others just give him a slightly harder edge, such as Hit Me With Your Light. It's very hard to escape the short breaths he takes in between lines, but that's almost noexistant. It doesn't take away from the overall sound of the songs, which are quite well written and sound pretty nice as well. A few, like Photo, Fall Baby Fall, and It's You, are a nice listen for a few times, but the ones with excellent replay value (Hit Me With Your Light, Last Night, and Walking on Water) shall be played until the battery dies. No problems, though! This is what plug in cd players are for.
Overall, very good, and a pleasant surprise! I'm currently deliberating over purchasing his first album; however, I'm very happy with what I've got right now. Nice ecletic mix in there -- an absolute joy to listen to!"
A Great Follow-Up

"I'm actually quite impressed with Ryan's capacity to record, write, and produce an album on his own, especially after working with THE MAN of goo-goo dolls for the previus one. Hm, pretty damn good. I like this CD, and I was especially impressed by the sound of each song--very different from the previous CD. I actually will go as far as to say that this album may even be a little better than the last. Yep, I SAID IT. I like "Hit Me With Your Light" and "Fall Baby Fall" because they remind me of some of my favorites off the other album, only they're more edgy and more Ryan Cabrera. Go out and buy this album; you're sure to enjoy it."

"I actually purchased "You Stand Watching" the day it came out. I wanted to make sure I heard the album through before I gave it my honest opinion. This CD seemed absolutely solid time and again. This young man has such a great voice and open personality he just has to succeed. You can tell he worked on his voice and has matured as a singer/songwriter all around(Compare this album to Take it All Away/unreleased Elm Street). But on to this CD. This Cd isn't as..poppy as the previous, it is a more serious, broken hearted softcore album. But the incorporation of the piano more on this Cd is what made me love more of the songs.
It starts off with a bang, From the Start is just that, a beautiful track that begs you to trust he was there from the start.
The second track and quite possibly my top pick on the CD is Hit Me with Your Light. I believe this could possibly be a faith based song but you can just feel the emotion in his voice, almost moving.
The third track is his first single off the album, Shine On. This song is extremely catchy and will soon be well known just as On the Way Down was from his previous. Another sympathetic yet optimistic song.
Find Your Way is just a beautiful song. The words get me everytime. As much as we can say this Album is full of sappy and sad lyrics, we all know we can relate and Ryan does a great job of transforming feeling and emotions into music. The song however can get quite repetitive.
Photo has a great chorus, more of an upbeat song at times, I do think the creativity of the chorus is what keeps you coming back for more. "maybe someday you and me will have, one more shot"
Our Story was never my first listen on the album, but afetr a while it really grew on me. The latin tempo and theme it has is amazing and turns into another strong strong chorus. This is probably my second favorite on the album.
The next two songs are possibly where there could be a weak point, if you even want to say that. Im not taking anything away from Fall Baby fall and Last Night but they are just more of filler songs, both great songs but not as catchy as the others I feel. With you gone follows this trend. The way this song is sung makes it somewhat unnatractive to some people, he seems to start and stop and not get anything going.
Walking on Water and It's You are a great way to help end this within the last 3 tracks. Walking on Water is really growing on me it sounds so pure when it plays, and Ryans voice is what does it in this song. It's You is a very sentimental love song and at times a reminder to that one he loves that he really does love her. "When im sitting all alone in my room. everything reminds me of you."
All in all, I could not find any other rating to give this album other than a 5 star rating; because if I could give it a 10 I would. Sometimes i catch myself using the same words over and over to describe it, but i think one word does. If you enjoyed Take it all Away you will most definately love this cd. Well worth every penny!
FYI: I purchased the Cd from Wal-mart and got a bonus disc for the same price. These songs on the bonus disc are actually quite good. "I know what it feels like", and "all night train" seem to be new acoustic tunes, which are both incredibly solid. It also includes 3 acoustic versions of songs from "Take it All Way":Take it all away, Exit to Exit, and Shame on Me."
