Synopsis

Album Description
The wait is over, the cat?s out of the bag, its time to get our of your seats and riot in the streets! The pride of Jersey City is back? all hail RYE COALITION! From the seedy back alleys of Jersey City explodes RYE COALITION, beloved saviors of rock n' roll! The boys are back with their long awaited fourth full-length "Curses", produced by the one and only Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age). "Curses", if you can believe it, is another bold step forward from their previous efforts, deftly wielding the power of 70's hard rock backed up by a distinct modern punk aesthetic. The guitars are on fire, the bass throbs, and the drums are positively Bonham-esque. Lather on a rock n? roll frontman with a voice like Paul Stanley dipped in bourbon, a generous sprinkling of sardonic wit, and RYE is the recipe you?re after.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"here's a great review from Spin.com: "Rye Coalition's fattened-up AC/DC-sleaze schtick has been the same since the beginning, but it's taken Dave Grohl, who produced Curses, to get their mojo flowing. With songcraft that encompasses some of Grohl's best come-ons -- thundering, sassy, and hedonistic -- it seems with Curses the zeitgeist has finally hit. While Rye Coalition's anthemic and indulgent cuts sport titles that might read too cheeky to take seriously ("Tequila Mockingbird (P.T.E.)," "Vietnam Veterinarian," and "Between an I-Roc and a Hard Place"), the band lather on balls-out garage-glam with enough impressive sincerity that the tracks never sound stupid. Plus, they've got the earnestness to light up arenas, or, at least, Camaros for backseat escapades.""
