Synopsis

Product Description
We Move is the sophomore release for acclaimed vocalist Sachal Vasandani, who with growing confidence in composition and arranging and two years of successful tour dates behind him decided it was time to go back into the studio. Produced by Sachal and an A team of top-flight studio sages (John Clayton, Doug Wamble and Al Pryor), We Move finds this young vocalist reaching new heights as a songwriter, lyricist, and bandleader in the wake of his 2007 breakout Mack Avenue debut, Eyes Wide Open.

Startlingly Different

(4 out of 5 stars)

"A smart and soulful jazz vocal album that will appeal equally to fans of Kurt Elling and Bon Iver."
Interesting... talented.... experimental...... sort of works

(3 out of 5 stars)

"I have say that I've seen Sachal Vasandani in concert with Sara Gazarek a few months back. I have to say that Sachal has a great voice. This guy can swing hard. And then he does stuff that is experimental that doesn't work all the time. When he relaxes and lets loose, he just swings.

I would love to give this album better than 3 stars because when he's on, HE IS ON. I can see why Sara Gazarek gushes about Sachal being a new talent. Elvis did some experimental things when he was starting out and it worked.

I will give him credit for experimenting. I hope Sachal finds his groove that he is also comfortable with because when this cat hits it right, he nails it to the wall.

I will keep an eye on him as I think he's a major talent. I don't expect every experiment he'll run on us will work but I hope he's more dead on in the future."
