Synopsis

Product Description
Sacrament's debut release intends to brutalize from start to finish - mission accomplished! Originally released in 1990 on R.E.X. Records, Testimony of Apocalypse became an instant favorite with thrash fans. Songs like "Slave To Sin" were perfect examples of beefy thrash guitars and classic thrash vocals used to create an abrasive wall of sonic power. As an added treat, Retroactive Records obtained permission to include the 7 tracks from the ultra rare Presumed Dead EP as an added bonus. In 1989 the band took it upon themselves to release the EP, and until now it has never been available on CD or in stores.

CD Reviews

If they weren't Christian they'd be THRASH LEGENDS!!!

"All right, first things first. I've never been a big fan of the idea of Christian metal. To be honest, I always kinda considered it an oxymoron. But then I stumbled across SACRAMENT and the thrashing beast inside of me said, "wait a minute, you can't just ignore these guys because they're Christians, afterall, they thrash up a serious storm!" It's true, SACRAMENT have that killer late-80's thrash/speed metal sound embodied by legends like PESTILENCE, TESTAMENT("Legacy"-era ONLY), INFERNAL MAJESTY, SEPULTURA, DEATHROW, SACRED REICH, and even hints of metal-era R.D.P.(Ratos de Porao). But most amazing of all, despite the similarities between the SACRAMENT sound and the bands I just listed, in general, SACRAMENT have a pretty unique and semi-innovative sound for 1989-1990. In some ways, they were actually a little ahead of their time. To bad no one in the underground thrash scene really cared. But now almost 20 years later the extreme metal world(myself included) has a chance to re-evaluate these guys due to this cool CD release featuring SACRAMENT's album and demo from 1990 and '89, respectively. The question is, will the metal scene be any more willing to overlook this band's Bible-loving convictions now, than in 1990? Honestly, I don't think so. If anything, with the flourishing Black and Death metal underground, and seemingly more Satanic bands than ever, I'm sure SACRAMENT will remain outsiders. But hell(oops, I mean heaven), I'm sure SACRAMENT could care less. They know they had something special going back in the late-80s, and most thrash fans who can look beyond the Christian thing will agree. 4.5 stars out of 5 and sure to remain a cult band, if SACRAMENT is the house-band in heaven, maybe it won't be SO bad!!!!"
One of the best songs!

"since when in the Thrash (metal) in general really care if someone could sing? If anyone cared about that, they would listen to the polished boring crap they feed you on the radio (because they can sing right) what a joke. If you are a fan of thrash, especially around the late 80s early 90s era as I am, you will love this album. Kind of like anything I listen to, it doesn't matter if you are Christian, or any other religion or lack there of as myself, it is about the music. Just go to youtube and listen to "Slave To Sin", it has to be one of the best thrash songs ever, that song alone would be worth the [...] dollar plus price tag I have seen this album going for. Too bad most people judge music on color, religion, popularity, radio play, once you get out of that mindset its amazing the music you will find, quit waiting for something to come to you, go out and find it, you can't miss on this one."
