"Very impressive mixture of deep groove tracks stemming from a heavy DJ and a inovative rythm section. Instrumentation of various nationalities flavor each track with spice of different origins. Sainkho's vocals are haunting and beautiful. A mix of Tibetan chant and asian wail the vocals are gripping with thier passion and unrestained emotions. A Great album!"

"The review from 2000 must have the wrong Sainkho Namtchylak album in mind. Lost Rivers is Namtchylak's voice -- that's it. No DJs, no "inovative rythm section" [sic] at all. While I'm on the subject, what the heck is "asian wail"? Give me a break.
The album is consistently creative and inventive in how Namtchylak takes throat-singing to new territories at the outer limits of "singing" (which is a pretty narrow term for what she does). The music overflows with feeling. Recommended for anyone interested in extended vocal technique."
Awesome vocal control
