Album DescriptionSinger-songwriter Sally Anthony releases her new album VENT on August 31 on Gracie Productions. VENT, an edgy rock album, is the follow-up to her successful 2003 release Come Clean, which sold over 30,000 copies. Anthony co-produced the album with producer/writer Jason Bowen. Anthony is not only a talented writer and performer but also an entrepreneur, pioneer and role model whose passionate goal is placing women in the forefront of athletics, music, politics, entertainment and life in general. VENT is an album about being the underdog, self-exploration and trusting your inner voice, topics that Anthony identifies with. Every song is written or co-written by Anthony. The first single is the title track "Vent" about letting frustrations out and breaking free from barriers that often inhibit us. "I want to break down walls for women," states Anthony. "I want to write and produce music that isn't necessarily about love and broken hearts. I'm trying to put out an album that lights a fire under aprons and tutus." In addition to using her music as a voice for women's issues, Anthony's entrepreneurial undertakings continue to bring her closer to her goals. She is the owner of her own record label Gracie Productions, owner a new American Basketball Association (ABA) franchise in Nashville, TN, and founder of Pearlgirlent.com, a website devoted to the support and exposure of female artists. Earlier this year, Anthony purchased the Nashville ABA franchise, The Nashville Rhythm that begins their first season in November and made history by naming Ashley McElhiney the first female coach of a men's professional basketball franchise.
