"If you like the "old time" country sound, then this is the album for you. The background music is certainly country (not rock), and the songs are delivered with clearity of voice. All the words are easily understood, the voice is smooth and pleasing to the ear."

"Love Hurts is a very coherent package of songs that doesn't bounce around in style and leave you skipping selections. Like an album should, it creates the artist's sound, and the ''Sally Jones sound'' is rich material that touches the heart, soul and sometimes the tear ducts. The production work here is outstanding, tastefully not over-produced or cluttered. Instead, the top-flight musicianship throughout provides a gemstone setting for Jones' voice, an extraordinary blend of soothing texture and powerful, rock-solid pitch. The standout selections that best showcase this remarkable vocalist are Sipsey, Saro and Hello Willow. This is as good as non-traditional country bluegrass gets but I found nothing here that should alienate traditional bluegrass fans. Love Hurts belongs in the collection of any music fan that appreciates real music. Five Stars. No question."
