CD Reviews
Salt 'n Pepa is a great group of talented rappers!
12/03/1999
(4 out of 5 stars)
"Very necessary by Salt 'n Pepa is one of the best rap albums I have heard. I give this CD 4 stars, though, because not all of the tracks are excellent. "Shoop", "None of your business", and "Step" are the best tracks on the album. If you like women rappers, this is a must-have for your collection. Salt 'n Pepa is a very talented group and all of their albums are great."
Simply The Best Album Ever!

"Salt 'N Pepa's "Very Necessary" is one of the few albums where you never think of skipping a track. Every song is not good, not great, but EXCELLENT. They were, of course, the first and best women in hip-hop music (not to mention the cutest). Although only three of the songs on Very Necessary made it to the Billboard Top 40, they're all on the list of my 100 favorite songs of all time. If you were a kid in the '90s, you'll certainly love Salt 'N Pepa's 1993 album Very Necessary."

"I enjoyed recieving this CD. I had it before, but it was stolen by some near-do-wells who couldn't buy there own. Anyway, it is an excellent CD for you old school-ers by a group of ladies that knew how to rap. You won't find this type of sophisticated rapping anymore (at least not in my age bracket)."
The best salt 'n' pepa album// release a greatest hits CD!!!

"Very Necessary is not only the the best selling Salt 'N' Pepa album (5x platinum), but their best period. This cd also won them a grammy for the song "None of your business" and is the best selling album by female rappers (solo or group) EVER. (Lauryn Hill's "Miseducation" cd is mostly singing) I can still listen to this CD now and enjoy it. What is really needed NOW is a Salt 'N' Pepa digitally remastered greatest hits CD with great photos and extensive liner notes. There are too many greatest hits CD's from undeserving artists with 2 or 3 hits when S'N'P has at least 12 major hits. Enough on that... bottom line this cd is hot."
Too too true

"No one does it better than Salt N Pepa when it comes to hardcore rap lyrics mixed with sweet funky rhythms. And do these women tell the truth? Check out "Sommatime Man" "Somebody's Gettin' On My Nerves" or "Whatta Man" and see if you don't find yourself adopting their p.o.v. as your own! Totally crucial S&P!"
