"This set of 8 CD contains valuable recordings of this piano poet .
You will b surprised with the Prokoviev Third Concert . It is played with vitality without that hyperkinetism of the most of the pianists . Full of poetry .
His Mozart is very original .
Bach is arresting .
The Chopin is first rate . The Andante Spianato is sublime .
His Schumann has peaks and lows .
Faure piano pieces are splendid , and his songs without words (Mendelssohn) a supreme revelation .
His Prelude , Choral and Fugue of Cesar Franck is towering .
Widely recommendable!"

"Samson Francois is quite simply a pianistic genius. His performances are uniguely his own, frequently poetic, and often revelatory and even definitive. Unfortunately, this superly talented pianist is virtually unknown in the U.S even to many piano lovers. This eight CD set -- whose title translates as "The Unknown Samson" -- is a treasure trove of outstanding performances which lovers of great piano playing should find to be a treasure indeed. If you love piano music and do not yet know this uniquely talented artist, please acquire this outstanding collection."
