"After viewing their first music video Zeppo a year ago, there was no question that there'd be a lot of buzz about Sanctity. A year and several shows later touring with Trivium, Black Label Society, Megadeth, Lamb Of God, Arch Enemy, Into Eternity, Opeth and many others, their debut album is finally out. First off, I gotta say that this cd breathes old school thrash in the same vein as Anthrax, Megadeth, and Testament. Not that there is anything wrong with Trivium's last album The Crusade (I liked it), but this may be for some of those that felt disappointed. There's a lot to like about this record. Nothing real fancy. Just skull-crushing metal."

"This is silly. Sure, you've got thrashy riffs, maybe even some catchy riffs, maybe some good riffs, but they never fail to jump into a sing-song chorus. Well, a hoarse sing-song chorus. They've been infected by the machine that is Machine Head, Daath, Still Remains, Shadows Fall, Trivium...you know, the metal the kids are into these days. And it's fine that kids are into these bands, but...so trendy.

Ask yourself what exactly sets Sanctity apart from any given band in their style. Go on, ask.

Where's the art, where's the love? This is just another band doing the same thing a dozen other bands are doing because it's popular. Except the kids don't think that's what's happening because they assume just because it's metal it's legitimate.

Let me know when the next Mercyful Fate comes around, eh?

Feel free to lambaste my review...just remember that you're most likely going to do so without a second though. You're part of the problem. Have a nice day."
