"This album is everything I hoped it would be and then some! It is full of magnificent crescendos, orchestral swells, rhythm, spunk, and those diva-esque, operatic, thrilling high notes that made Sandi Patty the 5-time Grammy, 39-Dove Award-winning wonder that she is. There is no voice like hers, and Sandi delivers it in all its might in this album. from "Wonderful One" (which made me want to stop the car and dance in traffic) to the insurpassible high-brow, high-class polish of "The Majesty and Glory of Your Name: and "Take Hold of Christ," Sandi's latest release really packs a wallop! There's something for everyone here! From the dignified patron of Symphony Hall to the tambourine clapping church member who wants to rise to their feet in jubilant praise, no one could go away from hearing this album without finding a song that is sung as if it were meant for their ears only! Classy, awe-inspiring, and full of sincere faith sung from a heart that really knows what it means to experience grace, "Take Hold of Christ" is sure to be not just a favorite, but an album that will always call to mind the sheer insurpassable greatness so synonymous with the name Sandi Patty!! Sing it, Girl!"

"It has been a number of years since Sandi Patty hit the Christian music charts with such inspirational favorites as "Was It a Morning Like This," "How Majestic is Your Name," and a number of other top 10 hits. Since that time, she has had some incredible music in the CCM genre, but with "Take Hold of Christ," Sandi's return to her inspirational roots is certainly very refreshing to say the least! I grew up a fan of the operatic sounding Queen of Christian Music, and fell in love with her ability to bring her audience into powerful praise and worship. I have always been convinced Sandi Patty will be the lead vocalist in Heaven's choir, but with this album, her return to heavenly sounds of praise and worship are evident. Even during her more contemporary sounding years, Sandi continued to prove she has an incredible gift and ability to convey a strong Christian message. But, her most admirable work has always been her praise and worship format. And this album is certainly a return to that incredible sound her fans have loved throughout the years. With such uplifting inspirations as "Wonderful One," "How Beautiful," "Alleluia," and "Mighty is the Name of the Lord," Sandi has truly brought back the Gospel in clear and precise chorus, and created a refreshing voice from the past. Not to mention, Sandi has returned to her producing roots to pal, Greg Nelson, who previously produced many of her chart-topping albums of the past. With the combination of Greg Nelson's talent as a producer and Sandi's incredible vocal ability, it's no wonder this album is delivered with such excellence. It is very seldom one can say you enjoy an entire album without mentioning at least a couple of songs you don't care much for. But with this album, I can honestly say there is not one song on the entire album I dislike. The sound is great! The message is refreshing, uplifting, and precise! The mission is successfully achieved, quickly returning Sandi Patty to the Queen of Christian Music status! Buy it! You'll love it!"

"This is one incredible CD. All 10 songs are terrific! You won't want to skip a single one. I find myself humming these songs throughout the day. They reach in and grab you by the ear and touch your heart and soul. This is a return, of sorts, to Sandi's old style. There are sweeping orchestrations, big finishes, and Sandi's beautiful voice. The title song, "Majesty and Glory of Your Name," and "How Beautiful" will give you goose bumps. Your toe will tap and your heart will sing along with "Wonderful One," "The Heavens are Telling," and "Alleluia." "Savior Came (When I was Needy)" is an intiment song that will melt the hardest heart and give hope to all.Musically, this album is stunning, but there is more than that in this CD. There are great songs with great messages that the world needs to hear. This is one of the most incredible CD's that has come along in years. This music truly ministers to the listener."

Sandi Patty is, indeed, one of the most prolific vocalists to grace our ears! I have enjoyed Sandi's music for almost a quarter of a century since that first concert appearance I saw of her in Phoenix, Arizona back in 1982 to a recent Holiday performance with the famed Atlanta Symphony Orchestra back in December.(I had the most distinct honor of presenting her with a single beautiful rose to express my personal gratitude for what her music has meant to me these many years- and she graciously accepted it). Her vocal range is unmatched by most, her musical style is varied, and her performances are spirited.
-
This album is, by far, one of her best with the title track beginning so 'story-like' and ending with the climatic challening, crescendo to "Take Hold Of Christ!"
-
Sandi Patty and her music is constantly evolving and her trust in God, her faith in Christ, and the grace she continues to experience and enjoy in her day to day life with her large family is something that is worth sharing.
-
And through music she does it with absolute flawlessness!
