"I have enjoyed Nyman's music ever since I obsessively watched The Draughtsman's Contract in the early 80's. I also enjoy Phillip Glass' music. I especially liked Passages (his album of mutual compositions with Ravi Shankar). When I saw this cd I was intrigued. It is quite different from the Glass/Shankar project. The singing by the Misras is a prominent part of the compositions. The final composition is co-written with U. Shrinivas, who plays mandolin on it; many people will know him from his work with John McLaughlin. Even though all the compositions are co-written, they are definitely in Nyman's style. I would give this album 5 stars for those already familiar with Nyman's work (especially those who also enjoy the music of South Asia). It may only be a 3 star album to those unfamilar with Nyman (his film scores are an easier introduction). 4 stars is my compromise."
