"Made in EU in 2000, Serial# 546-844-2, Playing Time 73:58I don't know how many albums have been released in 2000 by various record companies to cover SANTANA's music, but it's well over 15.Due to the HUGE (and long overdue) success of "Supernatural", it seems we're bombarded by "greatest hits", "best of" and "early days" CDs.A long time ago, a friend of mine introduced me to SANTANA's music when the group released "Caravanserai"; I've been gathering his (numerous) albums ever since. SANTANA hasn't changed much in its "sound" over the last 30 years, even though the band has evolved musically: the latin sounds have always been present, but I think the most distinctive aspect of their music resides in Carlos' guitar sound. This compilation lifts tracks from only 3 albums: "Milagro", "Sacred Fire Live!" and "Brothers", so it only covers the 1992-1994 portion of the band's career.SANTANA has released some great music over the years, and, in my opinion, "Supernatural" isn't particularly better than most of his albums (they're generally as good); still, it has unfortunately escaped this compilation.I bought it because I'm a completist; but because it only covers 3 albums, I'm not sure it deserves a spot in many people's collection: you're probably better off buying ANY "regular" or "live" album."
