Album Description

Sara Gazarek?s artistic abilities display a deep appreciation and understanding of jazz on Yours, the debut album from this 23-year-old Seattle-born vocalist. A collection of classic jazz interpretations and two original tracks penned by Sara?s pianist, Yours brings together a solid cast of production talent in producer/arranger John Clayton (Diana Krall, Renee Olstead, Natalie Cole) and recording engineer and 15-time Grammy® Award winner Al Schmitt (Ray Charles, Diana Krall, Natalie Cole, Steely Dan) to create a lasting impression on first-time listeners.

Album highlights include Cole Porter?s "Ev?ry Time We Say Goodbye," Joni Mitchell?s "The Circle Game," and "Amazing," an original song written by longtime collaborator Josh Nelson.

"Sara's CD is so beautiful, I can't help hearing the title track "Yours" over and over again in my head. I saw her at Yoshi's, and she was just as lovely live. Her band is AMAZING and adds so many textures and dynamics to the brilliant arrangements."

"Sara definitely provides one of the most stunning vocal performances of the year. In an industry full of pre-packaged and over produced Britneys, Ahslees, and BSBs, it is refeshing to find an artist that can hold her own without the need of hooky basslines and beats. While the fair is mostly Jazz Standards, her renditions of Blackbird, Circle Game and three original tracks - Yours, Amazing and You Got By - break up the tried and true songs and lets you experience a fresh perspective of Jazz. This is a record that anyone will love, and everyone should have."

"On her debut album, "Yours", Miss Gazarek wooed me. I am a picky guy, especially when it comes to singers, but boy can this girl sing! I love how innovative the arrangements are - jazzy infused with her personal influences. There is a spirit and emotion to this record that most singers don't find until their 3rd or 4th album. Sara will be around for a long time."
