The Pattern Continues

"[Excerpt from Sarah Brightman's website] "This album is a Japan import released in conjunction with Sarah's new Japanese movie, AMALFI, this CD features love songs selected by Sarah, as well as gorgeous new photos."

This cd fits Sarah's pattern of: New Release, Compilation CD, New Release, Compilation CD, etc. While I wish there were more "new releases," any release by Sarah is OKAY with ME. :)

If you don't have anything by Sarah, this is a good CD to have if you love Classical/Vocal music, although you can get most of the same track from her Sarah Brightman Classics CD at a much lower price. If you are a casual fan, I'd pass, as there are no new tracks. For the die-hard Sarah fans, like myself, I have a copy and I LOVE it. It really is a good collection of love songs and a great collector's item, as it's not a domestic release and a lot of the text is in Japanese. Now I just wish they'd make one from her pop music, including tracks from Dive and Fly. Love ya Sarah, keep it up.

Gorgeous Love Songs Album

"Here's a little more insight as to why the price of this CD is so high:

- Quality of the sound recording (the songs are remastered and aren't just pulled straight from the cds you have in your collections)

- It's a Japanese Pressing (IMPORT)(which means it was only meant to be pressed and sold in Japan. anyone with a copy outside of Japan is lucky to have it.)

Why whine about the price of it. If you don't want to pay for it, don't buy it. I bought mine because I'm a die-hard collecter and have followed Sarah's career since 1985. Haven't loved all her music but I do respect Sarah Brightman, Andrew Lloyd Webber & Frank Peterson very much. Sarah does a lot for her fans.

May I add, Sarah's Japanese & Asian fan-base is much larger than her fan-base in any other countries, so of course, why not treat those fans to a beautiful collection of music such as this? That's why she did it and I won't gripe about us North-Americans not getting something like this for ourselves.

Okay, regarding the fact that the songs are remastered, the quality is much better on this collection, than on the original albums. For example, I noticed how "Nessun Dorma" is at the same volume as the other songs, and doesn't start out really low and lost at the end of the album like on "Eden".

I'm surprised that "Serenade" and "How Fair This Place" don't appear as one single track, like on the "La Luna" CD. On here, they're separate, regardless, they are beautiful songs and definitely deserve a place on this album of beautiful love songs.

The packaging is lovely, despite the fact that it's in a jewel-case and not a digi-pak. It doesn't matter. There is a beautiful OBI strip. The outer booklet is printed on high-quality, glossy paper and features some gorgeous photos of Sarah. Inside the booklet is a separate booklet featuring lyrics to all the songs, in both Japanese and English. At the rear of the booklet, features the Japanese catalogue of Sarah Brightman material available.

As for the CD itself, it's a glossy taupe color with faint dark-yellowish writing (for the songs) and a big silver AMALFI at the top. It's very pretty and looks soft and easy on the eyes, much different from anything else released by Sarah & Frank.

I'll say it again. If you find it's too expensive, don't buy it. There aren't any plans for a non-Japanese release of this very item, as it's liscenced to EMI Japan.

Die-hard fans will want it, because it's still part of any Sarah Brightman collection. And anyway, there are plenty more expensive items everywhere else on the net.

This is not the only expensive Sarah Brightman CD available on the market!"
