"As an important note it seems the only reviews here so far are immature. I hope mine help someone out a little more.
Sarah Connor returns with her 3rd CD 'Key to my Soul'. Dont know who she is? She's the German 'Blue Eyed Soul' so to speak. She has a voice like Mariah and Christina and sings pop'nb (pop mixed with rnb) type songs.
'Key to my soul' was released in 2004 shortly after Sarah married her boyfriend Marc Terenzi of the American boyband Natural and gave birth to her son Tyler. As with all her albums it reflects her life at the time. Shes not the little sex kitten who is young and curious as in 'Green Eyed Soul' and shes not the ghetto hip hop mama ruling her sexuality but showing a little softness like on 'Unbelievable'. This time shes a new wife and a new mother and she has a lot to share.
Unlike Sarah's other albums 'Key to my Soul' is much slower. This gives Sarah a chance to show off her gorgeous vocals. 'Music is the key' is a slow rnb ballad that kicks off the CD. Very Mariah. 'Love is colorblind' is a little faster with a hip hop beat but a serious message.
'Just one last Dance' is one of the best ballads Sarah has ever done. Her vocals are gorgeous and its just the perfect overall ballad. It was her 2nd single and on the single version she duetted with her husband's band over a different arrangement. The original album version is the best but both versions are good.
'My intuition' is a more mature yet hip pop type song that plays fast but has a dark vibe. Its different then any songs Sarah had ever done before.
'Daddys eyes' was written for her son Tyler before he was born (ironically he did have his daddy's eyes for the record :p). A very sweet ballad.
'Whatcha wearin' is a hot interlude ala 'My Intuition'. The 'Bonnie and Clyde 2004' sampling 'Hasta La Vista' latins things up a bit while 'Two become 1' brings the vibe down with a sweet pop ballad.
'Are you ready to ride?' is the first fast pop song but isnt as good as her old material (but not bad...its unique in its own way.) 'For the people' is a sweet and simple song while 'I want some of that' joins 'Are you ready to ride' on the new pop wagon.
2 of the best songs are the last songs. 'Every moment of my life' is the sweetest ballad and Sarah's vocals are just plain amazing. 'Turn off the lights' is a sexy little jazz number again with amazing vocals. Any woman who can whisper sing like that is definitly deserving of being a superstar.
Overall its not Sarah's worst album...in fact it shows the side of her most Germans enjoy: the ballad singing Blue Eyed Soul diva who left the diva title at home. Its different then anything she had done to date and stands out as one of the most technically beautiful and slower CD's she has recorded (though Christmas in my heart did give Key to my Soul a run for its money on that note.) Overall an AMAZING CD!"
Modern, up-to-date and internationally competitive

"Sarah has definitely grown up! Her new album, meanwhile #3, is showing this female singer on her way to become a real great entertainer, probably the best to ever come from Germany. Starting with the single hit "Music Is the Key" (accompanied by Naturally 7) to the slow-tempo hip-hop "Love Is Color Blind" (featuring T.Q. again, who was also to be heard on Sarah's debut single), from "My Intuition" to "Are You Ready to Ride?" (my favorite on this release), which are faster dance tracks, and may find a broad audience in discotheques. The slow and romantic "Just One More Dance" is in the danger of strongly reminding you of her smash hit "From Sarah With Love" (2001), but another ballad, "When Two Become One" appears to be another potential hit single, just like "Every Moment of My Life" is also a deeply touching and an outstanding hymn. "Hasta La Vista" competes with Madonna's old "La Isla Bonita", as far as the Latin background music and the entire approach of the tune is concerned. The overall sound of Key to My Soul is - to say the least - brilliant and flawless. All arrangements are modern, up-to-date and internationally competitive. Sarah, when will you finally record a duet together with Michael McDonald??? Prior to the release of this album it was disclosed that Sarah is currently pregnant. Let's hope she will soon be back and continue her awesome career. This album may help to get over the wait for her reappearance. Unfortunately, some tracks don't fully match my personal taste, but that shouldn't be blamed on Sarah, but my own taste. A truly delightful listening experience."
