"three and a half stars for the original songs on this EP. the acoustic cover songs are not very good.
i really like the two original songs though. they are excellent pop rock songs. just genuinely good song writing there. the album descxription is tripping balls though, this has nothing to do with punk hardcore or metal.
the covers are not very good, though, there is no reason why you should listen to the covers, rather than the original versions.
i think the two new songs are worth getting though, probably cheaper through the bands website, the full length should be good"

""Eclectic" doesn't begin to explain what is going on here. SAT starts out with a tight metal-tinged but catchy rock married to lyrics of romantic longing. That longing continues but the musical accompaniment changes radically on the remaining tracks. Using mostly acoustic guitar the band opens up the Chairman of the Board's songbook playing straight covers with punkish energy and panache. It doesn't seem like it should work- but it does. Based on guile alone these guys rate a 5. The EP length makes one wonder if their unique ideas began to run out though. Are they still out there playing or did they pack their bags from Chicago to one of Frank's haunts on The Boardwalk or Strip??"

"These guys were recently on the radio here in Chicago and I had to look further into their work. It's interesting to see a couple relatively young players show such regard for the music of the past. Hearing songs like "The Way You Look Tonight" done in an acoustic rock style was fantastic. Saturday Action Theatre could almost be viewed as an "emo-sinatra". The big shocker though was the original songs on the disc. Totally different than the covers they approached, the lead track was heavy but not overbearing, and the "Hollywood" song was almost so catchy it was criminal. Looking forward to more from them."
