"I picked up this CD by Scar Culture from a recommendation by some guy I was talking to one night. Normally I wouldn't just flat out buy a record just by what someone else has said. The moment I popped it in, I knew he was right. This is some seriously heavy stuff. If you're reading this review in the first place, I'm assuming your ears are already trained by Slayer, Morbid Angel, Napalm Death, etc. While I have listened to more unforgiving metal that just blasts you straight into to the ground, "Inscribe" certainly holds it's own weight. Every track features torturing growls, blast beats, and some really killer grind riffs, all sewn together in a very, well let's say, "schizophrenic" manner. What I mean by that is this isn't just your typical death/grind band. The nature of these songs induces a overwhelming feeling of paranoid and almost claustrophobic sickness. It's quite wonderful. I see a lot of talent from the members of Scar Culture, as each instument stands out well, even the bass. The artwork and logo may not look like your typical death metal cover, which shouldn't let you get thrown off. This band is now one of my favorites, despite most of the best metal these days is coming from Scandinavia, not America."
