"The area where this film takes place is in Basilicata, a poor southern region of Italy but rich with family ties and culture. The director is a genius at filming the family and their friends, capturing the immense poverty of the land and yet showing its richness.

Ezio Bosso's movie is extradorinary. There are several themes to come away with, but what stays is the visual impression of Basilicata's intense and unspoiled beauty."
