"If you've had the pleasure of hearing the Scissormen live, you'll know how two musicians can conjure up the haunted sounds of electric hill country blues. Personal faves are "Tupelo" and "Whiskey and Mary Jane," which builds to a rave-up of mammoth proportions. Great fun!"
We're Lucky To Have the Scissormen

"This is the heaviest, rawest blues I've heard in years! Ted D's learned from legends like R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough and Jessie Mae Hemphill, who were all friends and mentors. Ted's carrying their torch, but he's also playing slide guitar his own way, fusing the essence of Hill Country delivered with the spirit of punk rock. I've never seen or heard another guitarist like him. We're lucky to have the Scissormen!"
"Tupelo" and "Whiskey and MaryJane" especially potent!

"I've had the joy of seeing The Scissormen in action, Ted playing slide with, well, just about anything in the room, and getting the audience into the blues groove--so it was great to hear that raunchy, emotional real deal feel come alive on the new record, too. LUCK IN A HURRY gets me up and moving, and I just love "Tupelo" and "Whiskey and MaryJane"--doesn't get any more deep blues than that!"

"After finding Scissormen via gibson.com`s free download page of hot artist`s to look out for I have become a HUGE fan.It is truly remarkable how a two piece band can create such an amazing sound. The band`s first two discs, the EP Jinx Breaker`s and the CD The Devil calls.... are both excellent. Luck in a Hurry is a superb collection of Music as well. I will be highly anticipating scissormen`s next release."
