"Made in GER in 2001, Serial# 5-35147-2, Playing Time 48:18I know most people will jump at the opportunity to grab this great album, especially since it was unavailable for the longest time.BUT there's a slight twist here: sure, it includes 2 bonus tracks ("Suspender Love", the b-side to the "He's A Woman She's A Man" single, plus "Polar Nights" live, which was left out of the single-disc version of "Tokyo Nights" due to space constraints), HOWEVER this remastered version contains the EDITED version of "The Sails Of Charon"; the original Japanese pressing of this disc (released on CD back in 1989!) contained the FULL version, which is about 45 seconds longer. So I saved a few bucks by avoiding the Japanese Remastered version (why pay more?). But I got a surgically altered version of my favorite track on this great album!!!If that's unimportant to you, buy this version. But if you want the "original" full-length track, buy the Japanese re-issue... I simply HAD TO!!!"
One of the four Scorpions true masterpieces

"I am very suprised that this disc receives so little attention,
especially in the US. Nevertheless, is one of the 4 early
Scorpions albums that defined them as one of world's best heavy
metal bands (the others are Virgin Killer, In Trance and Fly To The Rainbow). This album features the best lineup Scorpions
ever had, including Ulrich Roth and represents the true heavy
metal Scorpions before they became the commercial pop-metal
group they are today who produce new albums by recombining
songs from their older ones...Up until very recently, almost none of the 4 albums I mention
were available in the US at any price except for their used
version on ebay (that's how I bought this one). Now you can
simply buy them on amazon and I recommend you do before they
disappear again...If you are a true metal fan and love Judas Priest, Helloween,
Accept, Iron Maiden and the like, this album needs to be a part
of your collection - you will never regret it! My personalfavorites are Streamrock Fever and The Sails Of Charon which
I consider the best Scorpions song of all times."
VERY GOOD ALBUM!!

"1978's TAKEN BY FORCE is the first Scorpions album featuring drummer Herman Rarebell and the last one featuring guitar wizzard Ulrich Roth. It's a strong release from back to back. No filler material here.
Listening to albuns like this one by Scorpions, you can only feel sorry by the way they decided, back in the middle eighties, to go straight forward to pop-metal...."
German group takes Texas by Storm!

"I can't really say if Taken By Force or Lovedrive is my favorite Scorpions disc, so, just make sure you own them both. While Matthias Jabs is a good guitarist he couldn't hold a candle to Ulrich Jon Roth. This would be Roth's last studio effort with Scorpions before departing for a solo career. I don't want to say he is as good as Hendrix, but he plays in the same vane. His work is superb throughout this disc. There is no shortage of great songs on this disc. From my favorites "Steamrock Fever", "Sails of Charon", "He's a Woman", "Born to Touch Your Feelings" and "Riot of Your Time" to "We'll Burn the Sky" you'll be amazed at the quality of the music here. There are even 2 bonus songs on the CD; "Suspender Love" and a live version of "Polar Nights". Ballads and hard rockers this disc has a little something for everyone. This is where I caught Scorpions fever in 1976 and now you can have it on CD! This is the hardest of all the Scorpions discs to find, so, grab it while it's available to complete your collection."
One song makes it all worth it

"I saw the Scorpions perform "We'll Burn the Sky" live on their last tour and I was totally blown away. This CD is worth getting just for this song. It stands up against the recognized classics of the 80's. The rest of the album is an acquired taste. Ulrich Roth was great on this album but seemed to be playing a different style than the rest of the band."
