"This is some of the best writing and playing you will find anywhere. I think of this album the way I would a "Greatest Hits" album, because every single tune on here is strong. There are no weak moments on here at all. Everything shines. Bassist Gary Willis and guitarist Scott Henderson sound amazing as always on their respective instruments. This CD is filled with incredibly deep grooves, beautiful melodies, some of the sweetest guitar tones you've ever heard, and improvisations that are soulful,thoughtful, and exciting all at once."

"Since getting into jazz/fusion a few years back I saw Scott Henderson playing with different members doing jazz, then blues at the La Ve Lee (where he frequents often) and I must say he is a very original guitarist. I had sampled this CD at a Barnes N Nobles in Westlake Village and left, only to return and buy it because I couldn't resist.



Interestingly, he mentions that he gets a lot of his musical ideas from saxiphonist Michael Brecker. Allan Holdsworth is highly influenced by saxiphonists like John Coltrane.



If you are into Allan Holdsworth type stuff or Vinnie Colaiuta,

then you will enjoy this.

Fusion With Soul!

"Scott Henderson and his musical partner in crime, bassist Gary Willis have concocted a classic here of modern fusion. Seemingly picking up where the Holdsworth-version of Tony Williams Lifetime left off and taking it a hundred steps further, the band lets fly with relentless force, tight ensemble work, highly intuitive musicianship and best of all GREAT SONGS!!!



They all have chops to burn but this band plays with soooo much conviction and SOUL, something that sets them miles apart from many fusion bands out there these days, who seem to emphasise technique and showing off how fast they can play as opposed to REALLY playing music. It's hard to pick a favorite track but I have to go with "The Necessary Blonde", haunting melody, great soloing from Gary Willis and Scott, beautiful dense and mysterious harmonies and so much more, just pure musical magic. Best yet, the songs sound like the musicians were having a lot of fun while playing them.



Highly recommended!
