CD ReviewsPour on the Relaxation! Cypress Green | Cleveland Ohio | 01/15/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "I chose Scott Wyker's "Ocean" first after reading tons of reviews on many ocean recordings here on Amazon. I got an IPod Touch for Yule, and have been downloading all sorts of cool stuff!
One reviewer writing of another ocean recording, in particular, was helpful. He (?) said, "People who are looking for more variety in sound should buy the equivalent cd by Echoes of Nature or Waves by Scott Wyker. Echoes of Nature has seagulls, singing pebbles and other oceanic audio delicacies (but no music, don't fret!), whereas Scott Wyker offers you an outstanding recording that is both genuine, evocative and extremely beautiful." I am hard pressed to improve upon that description. I loved Wyker's "Ocean" SO much that within two days I purchased Wyker's "River" as well. I had been unaware of the wide variety of sound quality and background extras in these recordings. Many of us nap in the employee lounge on lunch hour; these recordings have made it greatly easier to relax in there. The lounge is plagued with chatter and worse, SOAP OPERAS!!! The recordings provide a restful background to escape the world of cranky patients and odd phone calls. Even if I don't actually sleep, the sound are are nice escape from the dark, windowless pit of rickety tables and hard, plastic coated 20yr old couches we call a lounge. I played some of this at home for my 9yr old. He said of the tracks, "They all sound the same!" I said, "Close your eyes and listen," then flipped thru the tracks. He immediately could hear the subtle differences and now likes the recordings as well. I plan to play Wyker's recordings on the sterio when my son has a hard time concentrating on his homework. Buy this one. And "Ocean". They are worth far more than the tiny cost." |
