Whistle While You Work (at Christmas especially)

"Now if you ask me, and many folk do -especially folk what like to whistle while they work like the dwarves in the Disney version of Snow White - this here Christmas album featuring whistling is a gem. I ought to know because I am the three-time Chesterfield County Whistling Champion (1978, 1979, 1992). I am also proud of the fact that I won the county hog calling championship six times, and was second-runner-up in the Tri-County Yodeling Fiesta back a couple years ago. So, as you can see, I figure I have some credentials that allow me to make some learned observations about mouth music of a variety that most folks are unparallel in.
First of all, good whistling depends on harmonics which are pretty much based on little sound waves created by the dexterity of the whistler's mouth. These happen to not just any sound waves, but sine waves. An ideal sine wave is a waveform whose graph is identical to the generalized sine function y = Asin[?(x ? ?)] + C, where A is the amplitude, ? is the angular frequency (2?/P where P is the wavelength), ? is the phase shift, and C is the vertical offset. I know this is trivial information to most folks, but those of us who see whistling as an art form worthy of research know that this here Sean Lomax Whistler feller has his sine waves locked down tight and can control them like a real virtuoso.
This is a Christmas CD filled with whistlin' ...and I suppose that is why they called the album what they called it. I can highly recommend it as a great gift during the Christmas season, but suggest that it might not be as appropriate at other times of year or for other holidays (such as Arbor Day, or Flag Day). I put this CD on and our Junior commences to puckering and blowing and attempting to create the sounds he hears coming out of the speakers, but Junior ain't yet learned how to whistle and all he ends up doing is slobbering all down his bib-front overalls. The twins and Mama, on the other hand, can whistle like birds and they whistle along and have a merry old time as they scamper about in the double wide trailer and make like dwarves. I would therefore recommend this CD to folk what don't even yet know they like whistlin'."
