CD Reviews

International AKA English Version!! NOT SAME AS LISTED CD
Deacon | Minnesota | 07/20/2006
(1 out of 5 stars)

"I ordered this solely because I saw the Seeed video for Aufstehn! on international cable access (in German), when I opened and listened to it, "Aufstehn!" is listed as "Rise and Shine" and is sung in English (like almost all the tracks), not what I was expecting I wanted the original German. The track listing on amazon is incorrect,it is as follows:

1 Good To Know

2 Next...!

3 Rise & Shine feat. Cee-Lo Green

4 Stand Up

5 Waterpumpee

6 Music Monks (The See(e)dy Monks)

7 She Got Me Twisted

8 Thing feat. Saian Supa Crew

9 Goosebumps

10 Pressure

11 Slowlife

12 Please, Please feat. Lady Saw

13 Respectness

14 Double Soul feat Tanya Stephens

15 End of the Day

16 Dickes B

17 Papa Noah"
Berlin keeps pumping
Frank Delle | San Francisco, CA USA | 10/07/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Awesome third CD by one the best hybrid dance bands in the world. Still nested in reggae/ska roots, Seeed goes well beyond the standard genres and presents another masterful blend of bass pumping and car speaker destroying beats. From Lee Perry to Outkast, Seeed can be found somewhere in between, with sometimes intelligent, soulful and outright silly rap lyrics, alternating between English and German. This is undoubtedly the better side of German popular music and never once suggests embarrassment of countless past and ill-fated attempts producing German pop songs. The Berlin music scene is alive and well and is kicking up the ante for competing at an international level for a music genre it isn't exactly known for. This is the kind of music is so powerful on every level that could have brought down the Berlin wall simply by cranking up the volume know.

Love that homage and rhyme to Tarantino's Ocean's 11.."ain't no fun like robbing a casino". Keep it coming Germaica !
