""Places I Haven't Seen" is the debut release for songwriter Yuuki Matthews, a remarkably talented (and handsome) songwriter from Seattle, who is also the brainchild for the band Seldom. Making up the band is classically trained musician Casey Foubert (Pedro the Lion) on drums, KC Wescott (Unwed Sailor, The Vogue) on guitar, as well as Matthews on keyboards, guitar, and vocals. Recorded at Casa Recording Co. by up-and-coming producer Blake Wescott (Damien Jurado, Pedro the Lion, The Posies), "Places I Haven't Seen" features five beautiful and diverse songs, with lyrics so confessional you may have to stock up on Kleenex. The EP showcases their multitude of talents and wide range in styles, and even includes 2 tracks (2 and 4) which Matthews reportedly wrote at 17. Talk about a child prodigy! Anyway, listening to the CD is reminscent of swimming through diamond-encrusted lime jello, or being sponge-bathed by any number of foreign super models. It's THAT good.I HIGHLY suggest this CD, and would keep your eye out for their full-length due out early next year.
