"First of all I am 18, i did not want to start and account. Anyways, Senses Fail have built up quite a fan base since Let It Enfold You, and have toured relentlessly ever since they've been signed. And now there back with Still Searching, there third and most mature release. This is purely a rock album, and the band has lost much of its emo taste. Although the lyrics still remain extremely emo, and pretty lame. I liked the clever, dark lyrics from Let It Enfold You but this is pretty pathedic. The production is much much better, and all memebers have improved with their instruments. Another big improvment is the screaming, the screaming is perfect and really elevates the music.



1. The Rapture 6/10. this song starts the record off, not a perfect intro i would have chosen something heavy and fast, but this is alright.



2. Bonecrusher 7.5/10 Now the music steps it up with a faster song. this track is nothing special, but pretty solid.



3. Sick or Sane 8/10 Very solid track, i love the verses



4. Cant Be Saved 9/10 Probally will be the next single after calling all cars, one of my favorites on the cd.



5. Calling All Cars 9.5/10 A typical single, although much better then buried a lie. Its catchy, and perfect for a first single.



6. Shark Attack 9/10 A breakdown from senses fail?!?! thats right! the first blistering track, cant wait to hear this one live.



7. Still Searching 10/10 The highlight track in my opinion. Great lyrics, and i love the double bass in the verses, and amazing screaming.



8. To All The Crowded Rooms 8/10 Another solid track, goes strong through out, but i love the ending witb buddys very emotional vocals. the ending makes this song.



9. Lost And Found 10/10 I knew there would be a slow song, this ones slow with great drumming and accustic guitar. this song is simply beautiful.



10. Everyday Is A Struggle 6/10 this song is nothing special, just an average track.



11. All the best Cowboys have daddy issues 2/10 What went wrong here? the start sounds like panic at the disco/mariayn manson. Absoloutly awful, bad effort at being origianl.



12. Negative Space 1/10 Filler instrumental



13. The Priest And The Matador. 5/10 A Bad way to end this album. there was effort here to make it epic but its failed"

"This isn't really a kids review, I just didn't want to make an account.



Anyway...



This is an exceptional album in all aspects of the "Emo/Screamo/Rock" genres. The lyrics aren't your tyipical Emo though, because they're not whining about some girl, it's the band sharing personal life stuggles of religion and stability like their older albums. They put this album together beautifully from begininng to end, throwing everything they could at you. It all comes together just great.



But compared to their old stuff...



This is way different. I think the only way they could possibly still call themselves Senses Fail is because the lead vocalist's clean vocals have not changed one bit. If that's all you liked them for, you'll love this album.

They gained new things on this album, but lost some things too... some for the better, some for the worse.

Examples:

1) On this CD they have lower screams

2) On this CD they have guitar solos

3) On this CD they have very very little violence and insanity in the lyrics

4) This CD is more put together to make an album vs. a bunch of songs randomly placed on a CD.

5) In the old songs on From the Depths of Dreams and Let It Enfold You, the endings used to "make" the song with the breakdown, but they did not use that technique in this album

6) I can't think of the word, and this is my opinion, but I think this album is way too... produced? or mixed? something like that. Like, it's going to be hard to play it the same way, and well, live since they mixed it too much.



Basically they lost most of the things that made them unique in this album. It's not the real Senses Fail anymore.

But that doesn't mean this is a bad album at all! If you're stubborn and want to hear some songs similar to "Bloody Romance" or "Bite To Break Skin", you won't like this album. If you like a lot of different types of music and are up for anything, you'll probably love this CD."

"First of all, I'm not a newbie fan of senses fail. The first cd I heard from them was "Let it Enfold You", which wasn't amazing music as far as I was concerned, but I really still liked it. I loved the style and tone of the guitars, the vocals were pretty unique, and the lyrics were catchy and fun, and sorta naughty. I mean what other band would dare risk wasting a track on a song about pirates? They were who they were, and I happened to really like their sound. I later listened to their EP, starting with Bloody Romance, which as far as I was concerned, was also some good listening. Needless to say, no one had to force me to buy "Still Searching". I was a little nervous of the new guitarist, and how he would change the band that o-so-tickled my fancy. The first listen I gave to the album was all over the place. The lyrics seemed simpler, and not as much "fun" as in the past, but at the same time, I was all like "wow...solos". It was good enough to keep listening to, and then I really paid attention to the lyrics, which are pretty damn "real", and in my case, they hit right at home. The guitars have improved so much, and so has their songwriting, and the screaming...you wonder where the hell that throat came from all of a sudden.



1) The Rapture - 3/5 good opener, but you can't really listen to all the time, or you end up singing it in your head faster than the song is playing

2) Bonecrusher - 4/5 follows the intro well, and is a good song, but the chorus doesn't hold up well against a lot of other songs.

3) Sick or Sane - 5/5 I find myself starting the album from this song alot, it's fast and really gets my blood flowin. Nice solo too.

4) Can't be Saved - 4/5 Love the catchy intro, good lyrics, but a little repetative

5) Calling all Cars - 4/5 Sounds like it could be on LIEY, but its better sounding than the older songs. Really catchy, good first single, but not the best song by far.

6) Shark Attack - 5/5 Intense as hell, builds up, up, then explodes. Sick solo and that one harmonic...it's nice.

7) Still Searching - 5/5 Screw a build-up, this song starts strong and ends stronger. My first fav of the album.

8) To All the Crowded Rooms - 3/5 Comes off a little weak after the two before it, but the screaming in the end is worth the listen.

9) Lost and Found - 4/5 A nice break from all the intensity. You can catch your breath here, with some pretty real lyrics. Like I said, If you can relate to the whole feel of this album and it's lyrics, then this one will hit right at home.

10) Everyday is a Struggle - 4/5 Don't go to sleep yet, the album ain't over. It's a fast song, with some older style lyrics(...I was the finger in your throat, to keep you cute), love it. You'll really get in to the chorus too.

11) All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues - 5/5 My new fav. Love the techno-ish intro. This song is really layered, and I love it from beginning to end, especially the end. Oh, the screams. Kinda had to make it my myspace song.

12) Negative Space - 4/5 Screw what other people say about this one, it links these two songs together beautifully. It's pretty trippy, and original too as far as I'm concerned. Kinda reminds me of christmas =P

13) The Priest and the Matador - 5/5 Great closer. Thanks to negative space, it is led into perfectly. The lyrics are just really good, and Buddy doesn't care how he speaks his mind in this album, especially this song. Just really good.



The album is a huge step forward for Senses Fail. They show a great deal of musicianship, and have grown as a band. they have matured hugely, and the addition of a new guitarist has added a lot to their sound. Buddy is saying some real stuff in this one, so give it a real listen. I may have not rated each song with a 5/5, but the album as a whole is 5 stars in my opinion. Love the old stuff, love the new stuff."
