Beautiful whether you hear it once or 100 times

"The Brahms Serenade in D was practically introduced to American ears via this now-venerable recording by Gerard Schwarz and, though one or two movements sound a bit weak, it makes an overall gorgeous impression. At one point I got rid of this CD because I felt that I had heard it enough, but after a few years I missed it so much that I just had to re-purchase it. Yes, it's lightweight Brahms, but that's what makes it so wonderful: Brahms in a playful mood is simply delightful."
