CD Reviews

A great score composed by one of the greatest composers
Lord Luger | Indiana | 06/06/2004
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I must admit: when I listened to this score for the first time about ten years ago, I didn't like it very much, principally because I was so influenced by John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith that I couldn't be able to listen to any other composer or anything which came outside Hollywood. I reviewed another recording of this soundtrack here at amazon - which I acquired at a local CD used store - and in which I claimed I was disappointed and didn't recommed it to everyone. Well, the time has gone by and now I believe this is one of the best scores ever written to the cinema! I'm just writing this in order to revise something I did before and make justice. Congratulations, Mr. Prokofiev."
GREAT Soundtrack
Rachel | USA | 02/20/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I absolutly loved this soundtrack. The distinctions between the Russian and German theme music is both brilliant and breathtaking. Part of what makes this soundtrack so powerful is its large range of types of music: from the Russian "Folkmusic" to the sweeping theme played at the end of the battle, this soundtrack is both beautiful and interesting to listen to."
