CD Reviews

An old classic is still relevant for today's young kids.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I listened to this record as a child and loved it...so when I saw it had been re-released I had to buy it. And it holds up great. Today's young kids will still find Shari and her cast of puppets amusing and fun to listen to. The song arrangements are well done and there is plenty of humor and hummable songs to listen to. Whether you're revisiting your own childhood...or giving this as a gift to a member of the newest generation, your money is well spent."
Politcally incorrect charmer

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Wonderfully politically incorrect (check out Tiki Tiki Timbo), Hey Kids! references a time when all kids lived with two parents and a backyard filled with bluebirds. Backed by champagne-bubble orchestrations the songs sparkle and shine and Shari's puppets are charmers--even this early brain-dead incarnation of Lamb Chop and a Wing Ding who is virtually indistinguishable from Shari herself. The combination of dialogue, word play and songs proved to be a winning formula for Lewis and 50 years later this album still delights. But don't expect songs you can sing to right away. These complex, wordy pre-Barney tunes linger in the heart but not in the mouth."
