"This is an excellent single that came out on the eve of the "Dark Ages of Black Music" (about 1983 until very recently) when synthesizer bangers and no-talent booty shakers ruined the music. But in either case, this is a rather pleasant and enjoyable tune that actually puts the synthesizers to good use. Sharon Brown also had a pleasant voice and I recall seeing her on an award show around 1983 and pleased to learn that she actually performed the wonderful (and unique for an urban club record) harmonica solo that ends the tune on a joyful note. Get it if you can and you will truly smile."
Whatta classic!!!

"Hi, Sharon!!! After seeing you on Court TV, alongside Carol Douglas, I couldn't help but just smile and smile at you!! I actually taped the TV show to watch over and over, and have had friends over to see it last night, as we all talked about our club memories back in NYC when this hit was da bomb!!! That song just brings chills to my body as I think of the partying memories of that era! I'd love to see you in concert whenever you make it to the Texas area!! Yes, a diva reunion of all you girls would be an excellent idea!! Please work with PROFILE to get your smash hit distributed again....!!!!"
This Classic can be had!!

"I just purchased this 12" gem at a great store on 7th Ave. and 35th street in Manhattan called Rock and Soul for just $5.99! It comes in the original unopened Profile Records 12" packaging and label, although I suspect it is a 1990's re-issue. This is a true classic that stands up against any of today's mid-tempo house jams."
Timeless 80's classic!!

"I am ashamed to admitt I know of no other tracks by Sharon Brown and there appears to be rather little of her discography available.
However, what I DO know about Sharon's work is this track - and it simply has to rate as one of the greatest hits of the 80's. It is always worthwhile bearing in mind that the 80's was an era of some pretty serious TALENT and you had to have something real to offer to make the music fans take notice. For any track to emerge with the accolade of "greatest hits of the 80's" is therefore no mean fete.
Sharon Brown's "I specialize in Love" is more than worthy. No self respecting 80's soul and funk collector should be without this superb anthem. GET IT!! .. GET IT NOW!
