Synopsis

Product Description
On her first solo recording, Sharon Gannon, co-founder of the Jivamukti Yoga Method, offers a personal and loving rendition of seven timeless mantras. Essential tools for a yogi, mantras serve as medicine for the body, mind and spirit, freeing our thoughts and bringing us in closer connection to ourselves and the natural world around us. Sharanam translates from Sanskrit as "refuge." These chants -- graced with seductive rhythms, tasteful electronic treatments and Gannon's soulful, impassioned voice -- will surely lead you to the sanctuary of your heart.

CD Reviews

We are all in this together
Julie Kirkpatrick | nyc | 05/06/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I love this album because you can sing along... traditional mantra is sung together with many people, and with this album, you too can learn the words and sing along (great liner notes!). The end result is that you feel like you are part of the beautiful lineage of sanskrit mantra and you are a participant in the evolution of our planet. The mix of english words with the sanskrit is a perfect balance to deepen our understanding of the mantras."
One of my favorite Cd's EVER!!

"What I love most about this record is how Sharon had blended the ancient with the modern! There is so much Yoga inspired music out here that, personally, I find BORING!! But this is beyond fun! Any music that makes me tap my foot, shake my hips AND sing DEFINITELY gets played everyday!! And I love every song too!!"
Voice of the Divine

"Sharon Gannon channels the Goddess directly with her beautiful voice, and you can't miss David Life singing backup. A must-have for any serious Bhakta."
