"Shawn Tubbs is a well respected guitarist in the Christian Music industry. He first started out in the Christian alternative rock band The Violet Burning and has since become a session musician playing on numerous albums by some of todays top Christian artists, most notably Crystal Lewis.
In 1998, Tubbs released his first (and so far only) solo album, "Jesus You Are My Life", on Maranatha Records as part of the label's "Colours" series (an equilvilant to the mainstream Windham Hill Records label). On this album, Tubbs performs some well known Praise and Worship songs entirely solo on acoustic guitar. The overall mood is relaxing and peaceful and is perfect music for prayer and devotional times.
At times, Shawn's playing is remeniscent of Phil Keaggy's acoustic technique. At other times, it is more in line with acoustic virtuosos such as William Ackerman and Alex deGrassi. Overall, Shawn Tubbs' guitar style is wholly original and his renditions of these songs are flawless.
This is a wonderful CD of beautiful instrumental praise. Highly recommended."
