"THE original girl group with a string of hits, The Shirelles FOOLISH LITTLE GIRL CD contains some gems to be heard. The hit title track would be their last biggie, but some of these album tracks are great. Namely, HARD TIMES which sports a sassy vocal by Shirley & wise crackin' lyrics, and is more R&B than pop. NOT FOR ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD is another upbeat number , sung by Doris , and it's cool too 'cause you can hear the mistake they left in. Only in the 60's! ABRA KA DABRA has some neat lyrics, and as always with The Shirelles, the harmonies are sweet & glistening. ONLY TIME WILL TELL is noteworthy , using titles of their hits in the lyrics. And of course, time told that their music & legacy has lived on for 40+ years.



The CD is in mono, and has the original liner notes , which are bland & generic. Being that Sundazed reissued several of The Shirelles' original Sceptor albums, you'd think they would have interviewed Shirley or Beverly or Doris, who has now passed on, as did Micki. Too bad because the groups' history needs to be delved into more , & with only 2 members still living, more tales should be told ."
