"This double CD has been beautifully remastered by BGO and belongs in all DSB fan collections. These are the best early (1965 and 1970) live Bassey recordings and suitable to the venues, the song lineups are for the most part a departure from the usual DSB set lists. Goldfinger does not appear on either CD and you don't miss it. What you will hear is a master at work."

At The Pigalle is a bombastic performance with an equally bombastic audience! This 1965 performance was near perfect and Shirley belted them out in her usual robust style. Critics compared her to Judy Garland and Lena Horne, and that is magnificent company to be in! Talk Of The Town is from 1970, and Shirley is also in top form, singing contemporary tunes as well as her own hits. Lots of audience interaction and funny storytelling by Shirley. Ironically, her smash hit that year, Something, is not included!

Exciting opening numbers and a version of This is My Life to make you yell Bravo in your own home!!! Highly recommend these two Bassey must haves!!!"
