"By noticing the contemporaries of this band, (like the Ducky Boys, Blanks 77, August Spies, etc,) one might easily think they are just another oi or streetpunk band, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Ping Pong's vocals are slightly reminiscent of Johnny Rotten or Jello Biafra, but any other comparisons stop there. These guys and gal made some of the best, most energetic and fun punk rock of the late 90s, with lyrics that will make you scratch your head and start looking up random and obscure pop culture and historical figures on Wikipedia. I'm not sure what planet the previous reviewer is on where everyone likes the Showcase Showdown, because on the one I'm on, they are one of the most overlooked and underrated punk bands of the past 10 years. This record and "Appetite for Kings" are classics in my book."
Amazing band

"The Showcase Showdown consistently put out great albums and 7"'s, and this album follows the trend. In a time when most "punk" bands are bad ripoffs of either The Casualties, Blink 182, or The Locust, listening to The Showcase Showdown always makes me remember that at least someone was still making original music in the 90's. Fans of Raped, Blanks 77, The Adicts, etc.. will love these guys. And while the previous reviewer was correct in saying these guys are better than NOFX, I don't understand the comparision, as these two artists couldn't be more different."

"I have to agree with Jack below. SS are among the best snotty, '77-style punk bands around today. With obvious influences from English punk bands of the late '70's and early 80's, the SS twist it into a Boston-styled mix all their own. People say Ping Pong sounds like Biafra, but, in all honesty, the Dead Kennedys were overrated and never made music this good. "F*ck You, Norway" is an absolute classic and the kids go crazy to it. This whole album is the shite, my favorite cuts being "Tonight Tonight" "They Saved George the Third's Brian" and the aforementioned "F*ck You, Norway". Get this and "Appetite of Kings" and anything else you can find by this band. Brilliant."
