CD Reviews

One of the great "Lost Records"

"I loved this cd when it was released in 1997. I was doing a specialty show on an alternative station in New Orleans at the time. I was listening to as many as 40-50 cd's a week. Some didn't last 1 minute in the player. This one did. It really stuck. I played it on my show for a while, but listened to it in my car all the time. It is a great record.

I have over 10,000 cd's and they are all over the place. This is one I have been looking for for years. I found a box of cd's in a mini-storage unit I have a month or so ago. I found the Silverjet cd jewel case. The case was empty. Bummer. Last week, while looking through the box again, I opened an old Elvis Costello Best of and in the case was a 2nd cd. Silverjet. Booyaa. I hit the jackpot.

I put it in the cd player in my car (killer system) last week and it has not come out. It likely won't for a while. It sounds so fresh, well played and well recorded. In a perfect world, this record would b e huge and everybody would know about Silverjet. But as we all know, this is not a perfect world and never will be.

Favorite cuts are Kid, Free to Roam, That Call, Meant to Be and Scenester. Good Stuff! A desert island dsic for sure.

One of the best pop-punk records ever (and I think I've heard them all!)."

It pulls you up, but doesn't drag you down

"i was amazed to see that no one else has reviewed this amazing album. When I first got the CD it stayed in my player for 2 months. The songs are very catchy and clever. I have seen Silver Jet live when they were in Winston Salem and they are amazing performers. They knew how to work a crowd and were quite the gentlemen when they were signing autographs. So much energy is displayed on this album. You can tell that they put their heart and souls into making this amazing record. They can make the transition from upbeat songs (ex: Plastiqa and Mater Plan) to slower, more laid back songs (Scenister-my favorite recording-) without missing a beat. I would definitely reccommend this cd to anyone who is interested in hearing good music."
