"Simply wonderful-it has nothing on it which hasn't grown on me more each time I've heard it-Silent night/seven o'clock news is a quite amazing track-worth buying the album for. I heard it first when I was just seven, and always remembered it until a couple of months aga, when I finally found out who it was by. So simple, and yet so effective. Quite brilliant, buy it or miss out!"
Indeed, the greatest compilation yet.

"This record embodies everything that Simon & Garfunkel achieved during their musical years. Created not by an outsider, but by Garfunkel himself, it contains the grandest melodies the duo ever produced. After they split, their music, well, sucked. Simon needed (apparently) the rousing influence of Garfunkel to make his songs become what they were. And Garfunkel, well, the amount of songs he wrote speaks for itself (not to undermine him). You'll find yourself unable to stop listening! At least I did. P.S. I love this album so much I was wondering if anyone who is reading this review would care to tell me where I could buy Guitar Tablature for this album (The Definitive Collection). I can't seem to find it. Search engines are so horribly vague."
Simply magnificent

"Though I was not even walking this Earth when these songs were written, I have been hearing them played since I was born. This was not a bad thing. These two have created one of the most beautiful harmonies that I have ever heard. This CD is excellent in the winter and has so much atmoshpere. The best song on this CD in my opinion is "I am a rock".
I would recommend this to any Simon and Garfunkel fan or to anyone with an insatiable love for melody.
And as a sidenote please do not take this the wrong way and I mean no disrespect to the beatles as I too love their music but "Bridge over troubled water" is the song that "Let it be" never was."
...definitely [Simon and Garfunkel's] best greatest hits com

"Simon and Garfunkel's best songs are all included in this rare compilation, The Definitive.
Paul Simon's poetic lyrics and jingly guitar playing, and both Simon's and Art Garfunkel's harmonies are represented in 20 songs that Garfunkel compiled himself in 1991 as the best of their work together: the soothing Sound Of Silence, Scarborough Fair, the Grammy winner Bridge Over Troubled Water, and the amazing The Boxer; the upbeat Mrs. Robinson, A Hazy Shade Of Winter, I Am A Rock, Homeward Bound, Cecilia, and America.
The Definitive Simon and Garfunkel is definitely their best greatest hits compilation out there!
